A new chapter for a fourth-generation family business, specialising in sourcing natural, raw ingredients globally

Helios Ingredients is a supplier of high quality natural ingredients that empower commercial food producers to create the best products possible. Although established in its current form in the 1970's, their family expertise in sourcing can be traced back to 1895, when their direct ancestor established a coconut and spice trade business in Sri Lanka. This quickly grew into the one of the largest exporters of desiccated coconut, exporting to Europe and establishing Helios Ingredients as it is known today. Despite being an established name in the supply industry, their story and extensive expertise was not clearly reflected in their brand, and with multiple generations of trade experience, they wanted to re-establish themselves as a trustworthy source of coconut, hazelnut, vine fruit and almond distribution. Their name is derived from the Greek personification of the sun, which plays a crucial part in their line of work. To highlight this, we developed a new icon that represents a sun shining down on a field of crops, with a subtle seed inside of the ‘H’ to show how one small element can lead to an abundance of produce when nurtured.

As their new visual identity sought to highlight the importance between the relationship of the sun and the fields, Helios' refreshed colour palette drew from these natural elements, with a contemporary, modern feel.
In order to prevent an over reliance on photography, we introduced a set of stylized illustrations to represent the four product categories, that can be used across collateral to inject some visual interest.
As Helios sources ingredients globally, it was important to highlight this expertise within their refreshed identity. To do so, we created an interactive map to show the source market of each product.
To create strong brand recognition and versatility in application, all core brand elements of Helios can be extracted and applied in an infographic format for impactful visual communication.
