Elevated living in a Malaysian rainforest residential estate 1500 feet above sea level

Tanarimba is a 7000+ acre tropical area of rainforest in Malaysia just 45 minutes from the bustling hub of Kuala Lumpur. Offering one acre plots with a sustainable, eco-focused housing plan, the company originally intended to sell plots for retirement and holiday homes. However, in a post-Covid world a new market emerged to appeal to; younger, affluent buyers seeking an alternative to inner city living, working remotely and keen to reconnect to nature.

OUR ROLE:

Creative Strategy, Visual Identity, Illustration, Brand Language

A tall, classic wordmark pays homage to the rich history of the area and its large pine tree forest. The linked A & R marks the meeting of the Bunus and Ceringging rivers, believed to be the birthplace of Janda Baik and a place of magical chemistry.
Intricate textures of the Janda Baik rainforest added depth to the brand story and instantly communicated the rainforest location to potential buyers in the city
Custom pencil sketches in an explorer’s notebook style to show endemic flora & fauna of the area, as well as off-plan homes, were created to give a sense of new discoveries that lay ahead.
A detailed illustration of the expansive layout of the estate highlighted to visitors the many facilities and communal areas of Tanarimba, and was used for way-finding & marketing materials.

“Working with two talented women founders, from both the client and studio’s side made this project a special one. It was also unique in terms of business model, and SNO helped define the brand’s language and create a clear identity. The opportunity to collaborate on SNO’s first Malaysian project was exciting and the outcome is amazing. The creative process and delivery is signature SNO, and I can’t wait to partner on many more projects in the near future.”
